photo emulation
I replicated two photos by Philippe Halsman. He is responsible for over 100 covers of Life Magazine, a record no one has yet to beat. Halsman had photographed numerous famous people, Salvador Dali, Audrey Hepburn, the Duke and Duchess and Windsor and Marilyn Monroe, in a much more relieving ways, like jumping or doing other activities that distract them from posing. I emulated two of his Marilyn Portraits and one glamour shot is more traditional and the second depicts her lifting weights. With the first I tried to keep the same lighting scheme with the majority of light coming from the models upper right and attempted to have the composition as similar as his. With the second image recreating the composition was more difficult, so i instead focused on the recreating the angle of the photograph and trying not to have the model drop the weights on her face.
